Donington Park has been graced with the presence from an endless wealth of icons since Download Festival spawned within its grounds back in 2003. Legendary artists from the pantheon of heavy metal, punk, and rock music have seen the festival cultivate its immovable reputation for being the spiritual home of unadulterated rock 'n' roll.
Well, 2020's edition looks to reinforce this colossal stature, revealing heavy metal mammoths Iron Maiden, nu-metal four-piece System Of A Down, and glam-rock legends KISS as their three major headline acts:
'Maiden return to Download as one of two homecoming UK festival shows in 2020, with Bruce Dickinson and co demonstrating their unwavering, scintillating form throughout their Legacy Of The Beast tour this year.
System Of A Down, billed a UK festival exclusive, also head to Donington having announced their first European tour since 2017 last week, fuelling speculation of potential new material - the first since 2005's Mezmerize and Hypnotize.
Promising "the culmination of 47 years of unapologetic bombast and spectacle", KISS headline Download Festival as part of their aptly named End Of The Road final ever tour, which will certainly bookend their career in typically outrageous fashion.
Joining the aforementioned are Deftones, Korn, The Offspring, Disturbed, and Gojira, with plenty more artists spanning rock, metal, and more over the coming months. Check the full announcement below:
