When in Switzerland, if seeing international icons from across the spectrum of rock, indie, and pop is your intention, then heading to Zürich Openair is your safest bet.
It's not just the aforementioned genres showcased at the festival, however; Zürich Openair's promoters aren't shy to mix it up with some electronic music titans taking to the stage. And that's exactly what they've done this year with Martin Garrix being announced as the first of their four headliners for 2020's edition.
At the ripe old age of 23, Garrix has already achieved more than most veterans of his craft, being named the winner of DJ Mag's Top 100 DJ's in 2016, 2017, and 2018, as well breaking through to mainstream chart success with imitable singles likes 'Animals' and 'Scared To Be Lonely' featuring none other than Dua Lipa.
Recent days have seen BRITS winner and lovable balladeer Lewis Capaldi, EDM duo The Chainsmokers, and UK pop icon Rita Ora also added to the lineup; it looks like Zürich Openair is going to be lively this year, especially as there's plenty more names to be revealed. Stay tuned.
