Madrid's Mad Cool Festival have unveiled the first acts for the 2019 edition: The National, The 1975, The Cure, and Vampire Weekend.
Following the festival's cryptic clue on Facebook, the more mathematically minded music fans had worked out that the first act announced would have some link to 1999.
Lo and behold, that is the year that The National formed, with their appearance in the Spanish capital next summer marking a 20th anniversary for the band.
The announcement comes off the back of a busy summer for Matt Berninger and the brothers Dessner and Devendorf, which saw them top the bill at festivals across the globe following the success of Grammy Award winning and critically acclaimed 2017 album Sleep Well Beast.
