It's now official, Primavera Sound Festival is hosting its debut Los Angeles edition in 2020. Set to take place in mid September at Los Angeles State Historic Park, director and founder Gabi Ruiz said, "Los Angeles is a city that has always fascinated us. Its vitality, its appeal, its forward thinking. We feel that in some ways, in Barcelona, we share the sensations and way of experiencing things with Los Angeles."
As one of Europe's most highly regarded music festivals, its first U.S. edition will coincide with the 20th anniversary of Primavera Sound, which started in Barcelona back in 2001. The Los Angeles version will accompany the original festival along with the neighbouring Portugal’s festival NOS Primavera Sound, born in 2012, and at least one more yet to be announced festival.
Primavera Sound has seen thousands of indie/rock and electronic music fans flock to their idyllic locations. Now heading overseas to the iconic Los Angeles State Historic Park, even more people can experience the festival's electric atmosphere.
The LA festival lineup will be announced in the following months, however it is Primavera Sound's carefully curated lineups that have captured the hearts of the devoted crowds for the past two decades. Recent lineups have included Björk, Arctic Monkeys, J Balvin, Radiohead, Nick Cave and more. Primavera Sound LA fans can expect to see classic headliners, icons of the moment, artists of tomorrow, along with smaller cult favourites.
