Not even a global pandemic can keep Tomorrowland from celebrating music and community. After having to postpone their annual flagship festival in Boom, Belgium, the EDM giant quickly changed gears, hosting weekly livestreams featuring their stalwart world-beating DJs.
For a minute as the world bunkered down it looked like that might be all we got from them this year, but anyone who knows anything about Tomorrowland knows they are an unstoppable musical force. And so today, in typically cinematic fashion, the Belgian party people announced their latest addition to summer 2020: Around the World - the digital festival.
More details are still coming, but the online festival will take place 25-26 July and will feature exclusive live sets from the biggest names in dance music across multiple stages. Of course, Tomorrowland isn't Tomorrowland without mind-bending stage production, so naturally the digital festival will feature "the world’s best technology in 3D design, video production and special effects".
Most intriguing of all? The artwork revealed today for the announcement calls this festival "Chapter 1". Who knows what else they have up their sleeve. Summer 2020 may be saved yet.
