With the conventional 'festival season' now over for another year, the UK Festival Awards have opened voting for the sixteenth edition of their annual awards ceremony, created to celebrate the best that the festival world has to offer – from flagship events, to marketing campaigns, to innovations.
While the majority of the awards are decided solely by a panel of guests judges, comprised of figures from across the music industry, seven of the major categories are put to the public vote – including 'Best Major Festival', 'Best New Festival', and 'Best Overseas Festival'. The votes will then determine the shortlist to be considered by the panel, as well as contributing to the overall decision.
This year sees the likes of Parklife, Download, Isle of Wight, and Glastonbury competing for the 'Best Major Festival' award, for festivals with a daily capacity of over 40,000, while at the other end of the spectrum you have Jika Jika!, Noisily and newcomer We Out Here among those in contention for the 'Best Small Festival'.
You can see the full longlists of nominees and cast your vote on any or all of the categories here. Public voting closes on 25 October, with the shortlists announced on 1 November, and winners revealed at the awards ceremony on 5 December.
