Denmark's conscious culture party
NorthSide is quickly becoming one of the premier music festival stops for the biggest and brightest pop and rock have to offer. This year, with Radiohead already announced as one of the headliners, and the city of Aarhus acting as a European Capital of Culture for 2017, should be no different.
What sets NorthSide apart is its code of innovation and sustainability. This festival is uncompromising in its unique presentation of the best local and international music and art.
If the ecological footprint of your favourite festivals brings you down, this is the place for you. Every aspect of NorthSide is as environmentally friendly as possible, all the way down to the posters. Venders are given green standards to follow, which means food and drink are organic and locally sourced, and there are even "trash talkers" who ensure all waste ends up in the right place.
To continue the promotion of the local, once the music stops at midnight, the party continues in the many bars and clubs the city of Aarhus has to offer. Nothing like a guilt free good time.

The festival takes place in a clearing along the Brabrandstien river path, a short, scenic walk from the centre of Aarhus - one of two European Capitals of Culture in 2017.
Søren Frichsvej / Huginsvej, Lokesvej 24, Aarhus, 8230, Denemarken
BY PLANE: The nearest airport is Aarhus Lufthavn, however this is still over an hour away from the city itself. To reach there, you must firstly take a Midtrrafik train to Kolind which only takes 8 minutes, and from there board a DSB train onto Aarhus.
BY TRAIN: Aarhus Hovedbanegård (Central Station) is only a 15 minute bus ride on the no. 12 away from the festival site.
BY BUS: Bus no. 12 towards Rosbjergvej/Logistikparken takes you directly to the festival site central train station. You can also take bus no. 4A, no. 11, no. 15 and no. 113, and get off at Silkeborgvej/Vestre Ringgade. From there, walk towards Søren Frichsvej with the Netto shop on your right and Stark on your left.
Unfortunately, there will be no parking spots at the festival site (except a small number for disabled festival-goers), and the immediate surrounding area will be closed. It is therefore recommended you park at least a mile away from the festival and walk or bike down from there.
People of all ages are welcome at the festival and those under 12 years old are allowed in for free when accompanied by a paying adult. However, children under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult.
NorthSide is a cashless festival. All stalls and bars accept international credit and debit cards and it is possible to exchange cash for temporary value cards onsite.
