One of Denmark's oldest rock music festivals
Jelling Musikfestival is one of Denmark's oldest rock and roll music festivals having held its first edition way back in 1989.
Now one of the country's biggest and most popular, the festival welcomes some of rock music's most esteemed names to the small Danish town of Jelling. Recent lineups have included Queen + Adam Lambert, Rod Stewart and the Kaiser Chiefs.
But it isn't just huge stars that grace Jelling Musikfestival, with promoters also keen to promote the new generation of regional talent and champion local acts, even hosting a competition (Quasar) to give away a slot at the festival.

The festival takes place in a big open field and features multiple stage areas as well as a dedicated festival campground close by.

BY PLANE
The nearest airport is Billund Airport (BLL). Upon arrival take the 43 bus to Vejle station (30 minutes). Here transfer to a train stopping at Jelling station (14 minutes). The venue is a 13 minute walk northwest from the train station.
BY TRAIN
Jelling station is accessible from most European cities, but may require a transfer along the way. Upon arrival the festival site is a 13 minute walk northwest from the train station.
This is an all ages festival and those under the age of 12 get in for free with an adult.
Bring ID if you want to purchase alcohol or tobacco.
The festival site is flat, and ramps are set up at the main stage to help those in wheelchairs see better.
Personal assistants of those with disabilities may qualify for free entrance.
