After a week off, we welcome back New Music Monday, who returns stronger than ever alongside Prince, Snoop Dogg and Tame Impala.
Prince - Baltimore (Single)
The day before his Rally 4 Peace concert in Baltimore on Sunday, Prince released a song recorded especially for the occasion, itself titled 'Baltimore'. Addressing the current unrest following the death to American Freddie Gray while in police custody last month, the track is a socio-political commentary on the aftermath of such events. Snoop Dogg – Bush (Album)
Snoop's first album release since the reggae Lion reared his head is a return to everything that we know he does so well. That man Pharrell is back producing – this time for the whole record – while Stevie Wonder, Gwen Stefani and Kendrick Lamar also turn up to add even more stardust. Snoop himself embraces his laid-back singing voice more than ever before, but mostly it's exactly what you would expect. And that's what makes it great. Joel Robertson
Snoop Dogg will headline the Saturday at Lovebox.
Tame Impala - Eventually (Single)
Their teasing of forthcoming third album 'Currents' continues, with last Thursday's release of 'Eventually' marking the latest offering. The track in question is itself a patient one: more of a psychedelic lullaby than a gushing trip, but one that enthralls nonetheless. Luke Nightingale
